The Golden Dancerettes opened in September 2016, under the Direction Of Keanna Henry & Shania Farmer. Both directors has had a life long dream of creating a passionate and meaningful dance experience for all individuals within our community. The dynamic and professional staff of the House of Gold Dance Academy is dedicated to providing a strong teachable base while guiding every student towards self-confidence and promoting integrity and a passion for dance.
Over the years, we've made many improvements but our educational goals remain the same, to be a dance team where everyone works as a team to help each student reach her goals in a family-type atmosphere featuring age-appropriate instruction, costumes, and choreography. Our classes and rehearsals are often informal, usually noisy, sometimes fun but we are also very serious about helping each child become the very best dancer they can be. We are trying to show every one of our young dancers that hard work produces achievement and to help each one experience the GENUINE self-esteem that comes with the accomplishment of difficult and challenging skills under the direction of a positive and encouraging teacher. We feel that these important lessons help our students not only master the art of dance, but also serve as useful tool as they face life's many challenges.
The Golden Dancerettes is a majorette competition team. But even with majorette being our main focus, we believe in training our students in other genres of dance to make them well rounded dancers. The House of Gold Dance Academy offer training in Majorette, Hbcu, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, African, Liturgical, Acro/Tumbling, Flexibility & to males and females starting at age 3 up to 18 years old. The dance program exposes students to a variety of dance styles, encourages self-expression through dance and gives an appreciation for other various cultures.
